Fusion XC | Whitecap Grey

Born in Finland, Karhu has long celebrated a rich history rooted in love and admiration for the outdoors. As early as the 1930s, Karhu products such as hiking shoes, backpacks, tents, canoes, and paddles were prominently featured in Finnish sporting goods catalogues. This same adventurous spirit of yesteryear still guides the design process to this day as the Fusion XC looks to carry on Karhu’s proud outdoor legacy. 

The outsole utilizes an updated version of the signature T-profile lug pattern that was used on many Karhu shoes, including the iconic Synchron Classic. In addition to these historic design nods, the Fusion XC is equipped with the same modern Fulcrum technology found in every current model from Karhu's running collection. The Fulcrum functions like a cradle, or a rocker, that keeps all forces moving forward, reducing pressure on the heel and using the body’s natural energy to create a smooth, guided ride. The Fusion XC also features a plush Air Cushion midsole, a Karhu innovation from the 70s that has since been adopted by other industry giants. Further technical features include a toe bumper for added protection and a fully gusseted tongue to keep out dust and dirt. The Whitecap Grey colorway comes in ripstop nylon, has a suede mudguard and rubber overlays.
