Shearling Flyer Jacket | Black Moleskin
A classic bomber with a bit of surf culture thrown into the mix. Battenwear takes a familiar silhouette and gives it a proper cold-weather treatment, pairing a wind-resistant cotton moleskin shell with a cozy shearling-lined body and collar. Quilted sleeves keep things warm without adding unnecessary bulk, while ribbed cuffs and waistband give it that easygoing, old-school feel. The body and collar are lined with warm shearling, while quilted sleeves provide extra insulation without restricting movement. A two-way YKK metal zipper, ribbed cuffs and waistband, and pleated cargo pockets with button-flap closures round things out. Hidden handwarmer pockets sit just behind the cargo pockets, with an additional interior chest pocket for the essentials.
Originally used in military and hunting gear, cotton moleskin is one of those fabrics that just makes sense. Tightly woven, tough enough to handle the elements, yet surprisingly soft to the touch. It offers excellent wind resistance without the stiffness or weight of heavy canvas, and only gets better with age. Expect the fabric to soften, break in, and develop its own character the more you wear it.
